Very many of us here in America are unaware of the plight of our brothers and sisters worldwide. To be a Christian in America comes with some discomfort at times, but isn’t as sacrificially demanding as in other places around the world. Yet Christ is preached and souls are saved, even under the roughest and most dangerous conditions, and even though we are half a world apart, we are united in brotherhood with them as the redeemed children of God. The heart of Pastor Bennett goes out to those who suffer lack and persecution in third world countries like India, and through our common faith connection, we’ve been able to be a blessing to them with prayer and financial resources.
Modest Beginnings
Fellowshipping with Bishop Mathai and his church in India has been such a blessing to us. Through them, we’ve learned that a passion for Christ goes beyond one’s immediate circumstances or even physical needs. We’ve watched as they went from worshipping without a building and meeting wherever they could to erecting a worship tent and finally securing a plot to settling into a permanent building. Suffice it to say, God has truly been marvelous in what He’s done for and through this ministry, and even though they face persecution daily, we’re so grateful to see many souls coming to a saving faith in Jesus Christ.
The Work Still Goes On…
Though Bishop Mathai has through Christ been able to bring his flock this far, there’s still so much farther to go. India is a very religious country with a large, diverse population of about 1.34 billion, 2.3% of which is Christian. That’s an estimated 28 million souls for Christ surrounded on all sides by adherents of other religions many of whom are hostile to the faith. By supporting Bishop Mathai and ministries like his, it’s our hope that we can see a greater outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit on the continental mainland of India. Won’t you please join with us in providing financial support to see the cause of Christ forwarded? All donations go directly to Bishop Mathai and struggling ministries like his.
